The 2009-2010 Executive Board Members

|
The 2009-2010 Executive Board Members:

Presiding as President is Dave Villafana. Dave brings a wealth of knowledge to this position as a returning president and bargaining team member. He has been at both the elementary and middle school site for over 20 years.

In the Vice-President seat will be Neal Wooley. Neal will also be the bargaining team chair person as we go through negotiations. Neal adds a lot of experience to our union and is an invaluable resource.

The Secretary is Katie Burnette. Katie has been the secretary for quite a few years! She is very quick in getting out the rep. as well as executive board notes. We could not function without her!

Primary Director is Susan Bachelor. She too has been filling this position for a while. She has  been instrumental in providing information for the primary teachers.

Filling the Intermediate Director position is Moriah Woolworth. I know that Moriah will be a real asset to our team.

Joining our team as the Middle School Director is Andi Jackson. Andi will add real insight to help us maintain our support for the middle school members.

New to the position of Special Education Director will be Donna Montemayor. She will certainly keep us abreast of developments in Special Ed.

We have a new State Council member who is very knowledgeable  in CTA policies. I want to welcome Amy Vidunas in that role.

Coming back as State Council rep is Barbara Wooley. She is an invaluable asset to our union!

I would like to thank Kathy Young for returning to the position of Communications Director. She will be taking on the monumental task of keeping our web page up to date.

Finally we are in need of a Treasurer. If you feel that you would like to fill this position please contact Dave Villafana at CEA.

Thanks for all your efforts

Dear Members,

I want to thank all the members who gave up their valuable time to help pass the parcel tax. Without that effort we would be in dire straights. As it is the parcel tax has prevented us from having to make tough decisions about district finances. It was a collaborative effort by the community, district and teachers to pass it. It enabled all to work together on this single issue. This is a testimony to what can be accomplished when we do work together.  Again I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of your efforts!!!

President: Dave Villafana

Note from the President

Dear Members of CEA,

I want to thank you for electing me again as the  President of the Cupertino Education Association. First of all I cannot tell you how difficult it will be to fill the shoes of our current President. He has set a standard that all presidents should aspire to. He has worked tirelessly on our negotiations from 2007-2008 and then the  catastrophic state problems of 2008-2009. If that wasn't enough the parcel tax. I am very fortunate to be working with Neal as he gives me a wealth of knowledge in performing this job! I wish there was more we can do to let him know how grateful we are for all that he has done.

As president I will be in the office all summer to handle any issues or concerns. I promise to visit every site by the first three months of the 2009-2010 school year. I will respond in  a timely manner to any left message. I will do whatever it takes to perform the duties of president. I will certainly entertain any comments or suggestions on how we can improve.  Please feel free to let me know how I can help you or your site. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to serve you.  I shall never forget that I work for you!
