Townhall meeting!!!!

 

CEA is going to have a TOWNHALL open to all CEA members on Thursday, February 7th at 4pm at the CEA offices.

**Continue to wear your CEA buttons.  These should be worn until we have ratified a new contract!!

 

** Board meeting 6pm on February 12th!

What are the main issues?

        

·          Salary - We have requested a 6.4% salary increase which is the amount equal to the COLA plus ADA Revenue Growth district is receiving above 2006-07.

·          Masters Stipend increase

·          2 Million dollar increase in Health and Welfare Fund

·          Comprehensive complaint language

·          Unit members assigned to 3/4 , 4th, 5thor 4/5 class settings will be provided with 4(four) substitute days each school year.  The use for these days will be determined at the site level in cooperation with the unit members and site administrator.

·          After school programs including any overnight programs are wholly voluntary in nature and unit members cannot be directed by the district to have or participate in an overnight program.

·          Association use of e-mail

·          President Release Time

·          SLP compensation

·          Salary schedule placement language for those teachers stuck on B-1

·          Any special education students who are mainstreamed for more than 50% of the day in a regular education classroom shall be counted as a full time student in the regular education teachers' class size limits.

·          Lower the class sizes on SDC classes

·          5 year evaluation cycle

·          Designation of the Tuesday after the close of semester/trimester/quarter shall be scheduled for the compilation and completion of report cards and will be credited from the "early Tuesdays" scheduled for staff development.

·          All 3/4 combo classes shall receive preparation time accorded to 4-5 grades.

·          SLP and Psychologists shall have control over their own calendars.
