At yesterday's (9-19) rep. meeting we discussed the issue of Reading Workbooks. I spoke to Phyllis Vogel this morning. Faria is buying their own. They are over $15.00 a piece. I explained to her that the workbooks covered the standards and that some teachers had been told to make up their own work sheets. Phyllis said that she had been assured that all of the reading/language arts standards were covered in the black line books. I teach fifth grade this year, and so far I have not been able to find the reading standard materials in the black line books. Phyllis is going to check with the company again.
I really need to hear from as many people as possible on this issue. Please let me know what you have heard, what you are doing about worksheet pages, etc so I make take these messages to the district office.
